Two armored car workers who were replenishing an ATM were robbed at gunpoint Tuesday morning, Atlanta police said.
The two suspects ran away with a bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash.
The incident occurred about 7:10 a.m. at the Bank of America ATM at 1775 Howell Mill Road.
Officer Otis Redmond, a police spokesman, said the suspects “were around the ATM” when the armored car pulled up. When the driver got out with the money bag, one suspect came upon him suddenly, pointing a gun.
The driver handed over the money bag. No shots were fired, and no one was hurt.
Redmond said he could not discuss whether the suspects knew when the cash would be delivered, or if they had followed the vehicle. Investigators are working with the bank to obtain surveillance video.
Redmond said the armored car workers normally are armed.
Police do not have a good description of the suspects.
