ATLANTA — Atlanta police are looking for the gunman responsible for killing a teen in southwest Atlanta early Tuesday.
A 19-year-old was shot to death around 2 a.m. at the Villages of Carver apartments on Moury Avenue.
A resident, who declined to show her face on camera, said she was getting dressed for work when she heard the commotion.
I heard two gunshots through my breezeway entrance here, she told Channel 2’s Darryn Moore. This is what we have to wake up to.
She said she saw the victim lying on the ground, but another resident may have seen the shooter.
A neighbor said she actually saw someone running up the hill, the witness said.
The victim was shot in the head, Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerucci said. He said the shooting may have been an act of retaliation.
According to some witnesses, there were reports of some shots fired earlier. We are considering that in this investigation, Guerucci told Moore.
Police did not have a description of the shooter.
