ATLANTA — A former Georgia legislator is preparing for an April trial on tax evasion charges. Former state Rep. Jeanette Jamieson’s trial was scheduled by Fulton Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson at a brief hearing on Friday. The Toccoa Democrat was charged in July 2009 with failing to file a state income tax return for calendar years 2006 and 2007 despite earning more than $127,000 in 2006 and more than $61,000 in 2007. Jamieson says she is not guilty and claims she’s a victim of selective prosecution because of her politics.
