Severe storms left hail and damage across Meriwether, Upson, Coweta, Talbot and Harris counties but more wind and rain was expected in metro Atlanta and north Georgia through Sunday morning.

Residents reported some minor damage from high winds and dime sized hail as the storm passed through Saturday afternoon.

Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said heavy rain and thunderstorms will impact north Georgia into Sunday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for most of metro Atlanta until early Sunday.

The primary threats are damaging wind, hail and lightning, but isolated tornadoes are possible.

Rainfall totals will generally average 1 to 2 inches with isolated higher amounts.

The rain will end Sunday with the clouds clearing late in the day.
