GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Pleasant Hill Road and Club Drive were shut down Wednesday morning after police said a woman placed a suspicious device under a school bus.
Gwinnett County police said at about 8 a.m., a woman got out of her vehicle and placed an object under a school bus at the intersection of Club Drive and Pleasant Hill Road.
The object fell off as the bus drove away, police said.
“My understanding (is that) she placed the object underneath the bus, maybe on the frame. I don’t know what the motive was behind it or what the object is. It’s still a preliminary investigation at this point,” said Cpl. Edwin Ritter of the Gwinnett County Police Department.
The bus was located at Minor Elementary School on Shady Drive and was searched. Nothing was found on the bus, police said.
News Chopper 2 flew over the scene, and a robot could be seen investigating the object.
The bomb squad is also at the scene.
