Gwendolyn Brown, 77, of Powder Springs, was located in a wooded area about a block from her home on Defoors Farm Trail on Monday afternoon, according to police.
Investigators said Brown suffers from dementia. They said Brown was found laying down but was able to walk with assistance to a nearby police truck where paramedics treated her.
Officers spent Monday morning searching the community near Brown’s home. A large command post was established outside a nearby clubhouse as police searched the neighborhood.
Brown did not say much to family about where she spent the night, only saying repeatedly “I’m alright”, according to Channel 2’s Ross Cavitt.
Paramedics took Brown to Wellstar Cobb Hospital to be checked out. Family members told Cavitt they hoped to have her home again on Monday night.
