We have no idea right now what was seen or who was in the area, Mike Bowman of Cobb County police said.
Police spent hours Saturday night looking for clues along Circle 75 Parkway, several feet into the woods.
A female was walking down the road, saw the body in the wooded area and called 911, Bowman said.
Bowman said the victim is a man and investigators don’t believe he had been there very long.
Police later identified the man as old Derrick George Gray, Jr., 22, or Smyrna.
Police are asking for help from anyone who might have spotted a car stopped along the section of Circle 75 between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday.
That’s the time the female who was walking down Circle 75 noticed the body, so we are trying to piece things together, Bowman said.
Investigators aren’t saying how Gray might have died. They won’t hint if they believe Gray was hit by a car or dumped along the side of the road.
If (anyone) witnessed anything or saw anything suspicious or any cars parked on Circle 75, please call us, Bowman said.
