ATLANTA — The state Road and Tollway Authority could vote Friday on whether drivers will still have to pay tolls on Georgia 400 after toll requirements expire next summer.North Fulton County’s Senator-elect, John Albers, is asking SRTA to stop the toll and let voters decide. State officials promised that the 50-cent toll would be removed in 2011 when the highway was being built in the early 1990s. One issue is whether the state can afford to give up the revenue it gets from the toll and still complete promised highway projects. The authority could also decide to continue the toll and to increase the fee to $1 for people who pay cash.
