For your morning commute, be aware of the recent modification on Georgia 400 southbound toward Interstate 285.
The change specifically affects the southbound lanes of Ga. 400 for those exiting onto Abernathy Road or Hammond Drive in order to reach Sandy Springs or Dunwoody. Commuters will need to make the decision to exit much earlier now, as the exit point is currently at Exit 5, aligning with the North Springs MARTA station. This is nearly two miles ahead of the previous exit.
The Georgia Department of Transportation has installed new overhead signs, and the newly introduced collector-distributor ramps aim to facilitate smoother traffic flow onto the new lanes and exits, ultimately relieving congestion on the main through lanes. This improvement is expected to enhance the driving experience for those heading south on Georgia 400 into Buckhead or Midtown.
