ATLANTA — Two men stole a full cash register from an Atlanta supermarket on Thursday, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

The two armed men went into the Publix on West Paces Ferry Road just before 11 p.m., Atlanta police said. They said they were wearing hockey masks and grey hoodies.

The men grabbed cash, checks, stamps and coupons from the store before fleeing the scene, police said. Two Starbucks employees saw the men run down the block carrying a cash register, police said.

A witness said he saw the men get into a blue or grey Chevy Caprice, where a third man was waiting for them. Police said no one saw exactly where the men were headed after that, but police placed a lookout for the vehicle across the region.

Someone found postage stamps and $2.16 left behind from the robbery and returned them to Publix.

No injuries were reported.
