ATLANTA — One man is in critical condition after someone shot him when he answered a knock at the door.
The shooting happened at the Pavillion Place Apartments on Cleveland Avenue in southwest Atlanta just before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
“He was shot in the doorway of the apartment from what we understand,” said Capt. Van Hobbs of the Atlanta Police Department.
Police said someone knocked on the victim’s door and when he answered it, he was greeted with gunfire.
“The girlfriend was in the apartment and she called 911,” said Hobbs.
Detectives said multiple shots were fired at the victim. Witnesses were questioned, but police said they have no motive or a description of the shooter.
Police said there is a strong possibility the victim knew the shooter.
