Ethel Bateman said she has lived at her home on Alfred Road in northwest Atlanta for five decades without any issues. She said she was in tears when she returned from church Sunday to find her home trashed.
“I said, ‘Whats going on? I never left my house like this.’ I started crying,” Bateman told Channel 2s Darryn Moore. Everybody around here knows me. Why [did] it have to happen to me?
The homes walls were perforated with holes, and Bateman said thieves stole her money, three televisions and her grandsons video games.
Police said they were not able to lift any fingerprints and have no leads.
