ATLANTA — Guests are invited to enjoy food, music and children’s activities during the opening of the Historic Fourth Ward Park.
The 17-acre park stretches from City Hall East to Freedom Parkway and includes lawns, a playground, a splashpad, an outdoor theater and a skatepark.
The park also features several environmentally sustainable features, including an above-ground stormwater detention pond that helps fulfill a federal mandate to address flooding around City Hall East by catching runoff and serving as a public natural area.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is set to lead the opening ceremonies in a dedication set for 10 a.m. on Saturday.
