ATLANTA — Atlanta Police are looking for the person who shot and killed a man staying at a Buckhead hotel.The shooting happened outside the Residence Inn Atlanta Buckhead at the intersection of Piedmont and Pharr Roads just after 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday night.
Officers told Channel 2 Action News that the guest had checked in just three hours earlier, and they did not know why he was targeted.”The victim walked from the rear of the complex to the front and collapsed in front of the main office,” Atlanta Police Major Keith Meadows told Channel 2’s Eric Philips.”We do know at least 9 to 10 shots were fired at some point here in the complex,” Meadows said.Police said a number of people at the hotel saw a white BMW race out the parking lot after the shots were fired.
Guests staying at the hotel felt very uneasy about what happened.”It makes you feel a little unsafe, you know. You think twice about where you’re going to stay.” said hotel guest Steve Obert.”
It was a little disconcerting and inconvenient ’cause you can’t get in and out.” said guest Ray CroopPolice told Channel 2’s Darryn Moore the victim is from Georgia but they are not releasing his identity.Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS.
