WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Police have arrested a man who claims he was robbed of a lottery prize worth $750,000.
Jose Antonio Cua-Toc is in the Houston County Jail and faces charges of violating probation, terroristic threats and forgery. Authorities say Cua-Toc told police last weekend that the man who picked up the prize last week, Erick Cervantes, took the lottery ticket from him.
Warner Robins police spokeswoman Tabitha Pugh said Cervantes claimed Cua-Toc called him 15 times asking for some of his lottery winnings and threated to kill Cervantes, his wife and their children. Cervantes said he bought his ticket with a friend with whom he plans to share some of the money.
When authorities questioned Cua-Toc at his home, he admitted asking Cervantes “to get his money back.”
