A group of mourners are honoring the memory of a 2-year-old who died after she was left in a hot van outside a Georgia daycare center.

Friends of family gathered Saturday to remember Jazmin Green, who was laid to rest with a single pink rose in her hands. The girl died Monday after she was left in the van outside Marlo’s Magnificent Early Learning Center following a field trip.

Police charged 41-year-old center operator Marlo Fallings, her 23-year-old daughter Quantabia Hopkins and a juvenile assistant with cruelty to children, reckless conduct and involuntary manslaughter.

Prosecutors say a checklist certifying that all children had been removed from the van after the outing was filled out before the van returned.

Defense attorney Bruce Harvey denied that Fallings and Hopkins falsified the documents.
