Gwinnett County firefighters battled a fire at an office building in the Norcross area Friday morning.

Gwinnett fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said fire crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the two-story office building near Peachtree Parkway when they arrived about 3 a.m.

He said firefighters continued to put out hot spots.

Rutledge said the building is across the street from a fire station and houses administrative offices for AkzoNobel, a car refinishing and coatings company. He said there are no reports of injuries and that the company has informed firefighters there’s not supposed to be anyone in the building overnight.

Triple Team Traffic reporter Mark Arum said traffic on Peachtree Parkway was not affected.
