Atlanta – Authorities temporarily closed a major interstate as they probed a fatal accident. According to Atlanta police, reports of a crash on the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 at Moreland Avenue came in shortly after 4:48 a.m. on Friday, prompting the investigation.

As per the inquiry, a vehicle collided with the rear of an empty construction vehicle. Authorities state that the service truck was stationed on the right shoulder, with workers outside the vehicle engaged in the installation of light fixtures. According to law enforcement, a white sedan deviated from the rightmost lane and collided with the truck. Subsequently, the car was propelled back across the interstate, ultimately crashing into the left wall. Officials have verified that the woman in the car, which struck the construction vehicle, has tragically lost her life. Her identity has not yet been disclosed. Fortunately, neither of the utility workers sustained injuries in the incident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
