ATLANTA — A father of three was shot to death just steps from his front door in northwest Atlanta, police said.
The shooting happened on Griffin Street near Orr Street on Wednesday night.The victim’s mother told Channel 2 Action News that her son, Wayne Wright Jr., 29, had three children — the youngest being a 9-month-old.
“Wayne is my baby … he’s my baby boy. I went out the door and said, ‘Lord, no. Please no,’” said Barbara Banks, the victim’s mother.
Banks said her daughter-in-law broke the news to her by phone.Investigators said so far, they haven’t made any arrests. They were looking for a relative who drove off from the scene.
