ATLANTA — Drug Enforcement Administration Atlanta recently seized more than $8 million in drug money, DEA Atlanta Special Agent Chuvalo Truesdell said.
Channel 2’s Jeff Dore attended a meeting where several law enforcement agency heads discussed the significance of the seizure in downtown Atlanta on Thursday morning.
Truesdell said it was a lump sum seizure from a violent Atlanta-based Mexican drug trafficking organization. He said millions of dollars were seized from an “unlikely conveyance.” The money came out of forfeiture and has been shared with five local agencies, Truesdell said.
The investigation also yielded more than 1,200 pounds of cocaine, Truesdell said.
