Damon Evans’ DUI case has been postponed until the first week of December.

Evans’ attorney and the solicitor prosecuting the case, Solicitor Raines Carter agreed to the delay, which was granted by Judge Calvin S. Graves.

Graves rescheduled the case for 3 p.m. Dec. 7. The former UGA athletics director did not attend Monday’s court session.

Evans was arrested and charged with driving drunk on the night of June 30, just five minutes before his new contract with UGA was to go into effect, paying him more than half a million dollars a year.

According to police reports, a state trooper pulled Evans over for making an erratic turn on Roswell Road in Buckhead.

The trooper found Evans, who is married, in the car with a woman whose red panties were in his lap, according to the incident report.

Evans cried and pleaded with the trooper not to arrest him as he and the woman were taken to the Atlanta Municipal Jail.

Five days later, he resigned.
