A customer was struck in the head with a blunt object on Tuesday during an armed robbery at Tara Fine Jewelry in Gwinnett County, police said.

Customer Struck In Head During Jewelry Heist

The heist happened at about 11:45 a.m. in the 1800 block of Buford Highway in Buford.

Gwinnett police told Channel 2’s Kerry Kavanaugh that four to five men charged the store and that some of the men were carrying guns, according to people in the store.

“You just heard a lot of noise … get down and stay down … so that’s what I did,” Robin Quisenberry said.

“I crawled where the watches were and I thought they were going to stay on that side, but they came on the other side. That’s when they had the hammers and the glass was actually hitting me,” Quisenberry said.

The men made off with an undisclosed amount of jewelry and were last seen leaving the scene in a large SUV.

The customer’s injuries were not serious.
