A wreck shut down lanes of Interstate 285 East near Georgia 400 on Thursday morning. It is a major mess on the northside perimeter, Channel 2 traffic anchor Mark Arum said.

He told drivers who normally drive in the area near Glenridge Drive to avoid the area. Traffic on the interstate was backed up to the Chattahoochee River as crews worked to clear the scene. At one point, only the far right lane was open.

Arum was told four people were being transported from the crash scene. He told drivers to use Interstate 75 South and connect to Interstate 85 as an alternate route. Shortly before 7 a.m., four right lanes on I-285 lanes reopened.
