LAGRANGE, Ga. — A hotel clerk was held up by an armed man in LaGrange, and the entire robbery was caught on camera.
LaGrange police e-mailed Channel 2 Action News surveillance video of the robbery that occurred shortly before 8:15 p.m.
Wednesday at the Bay Mont Hotel.The clerk, identified as Richard Rumbaugh, told investigators that a man talking on a cell phone came into the hotel, inquired about hotel rates and left the hotel.
Shortly thereafter, Rumbaugh said two other men entered the hotel lobby. One of the men was armed with a gun and ordered Rumbaugh to lay on the ground, he said.
The men made off with an undisclosed amount of money from the cash drawer and the hotel safe, police said.Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact the LaGrange Police Department or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000.
