Two people were killed in a double shooting at a Buford Highway shopping center Sunday.

DeKalb County police detectives described the scene outside the Little Saigon shopping center as a running gun battle.

Police told Channel 2’s Tony Thomas, two men walked into a business in the shopping center to confront a person inside one of the stores. Witnesses said they got into an argument with a man inside and shots rang out when they came outside.

“I hear somebody shoot somebody, and then, when I get out of the restaurant, I saw one man die over here,” witness Vicky Nguyen told Thomas.

The person that was inside the store was shot and killed in the parking lot, according to police.

Police later identified one of the victims as 28-year-old Quan Quoc Lai.

Detectives said one of the attackers was wounded in the gun battle, driven a few blocks away and then found lying in a parking lot. He died a short time later.

The other shooter was still on the loose. Police said they were reviewing surveillance video to help them find the third person.
